2020 BSCAA Recent Graduate Award
The Bank Street College Alumni Association (BSCAA) Recent Graduate Award is presented when deemed appropriate, to a Bank Street recent graduate (within the last five years) for outstanding contributions to the field of education. I am the 3rd recipient since the start of the BSCAA awards in 1997.

This award honors a secondary school teacher from Brooklyn or Queens who has shown outstanding efforts on behalf of their students and who exemplifies the key qualities propounded in the LIU School of Education’s mission: Knowledge, Enquiry, Empathy, Pluralism, and Social Commitment.
Inaugural 30 under 30 Caribbean American Emerging Leader and Changemaker Honoree, Institute of Caribbean Studies’
This national award recognizes Caribbean Americans aged 30 and under for their commitment, active engagement and leadership (professionally, academically, or personally).
2019 MILKEN EDUCATOR AWARD
This national award recognizes current early-to-mid career educators who have made impressive achievements in education and who have promise of accomplishing even greater things in the future. I am 1 of 40 educators in the United States and the only educator in New York to receive the “Oscars of Teaching” in 2019. I am the 4th recipient in New York City and 10th recipient in New York State to receive this prestigious award.
2016 Teacher of the Year Award, Teach for America’s Collective
This award recognized a New York-based Teach for America alum who is currently in the classroom, enacting and facilitating transformational change for their students, school, and broader community.
